Anniversary album

For the 100th birth anniversary and the 25th death anniversary of Witold Rowicki – the great Polish conductor – Polskie Nagrania Recording Company and the Management of the Association of Polish Artist Musicians prepared a joint publishing of the anniversary album consisting of 5CDs with Rowicki’s recordings – performed with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Warsaw Philharmonic and the Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Radio in Katowice (currently National Symphonic Orchestra of the Polish Radio). The album was published with financial assistance of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage provided under the Programme “Artistic Events”, Priority “Music”.


The CDs include works by: Karol Szymanowski, Mieczysław Karłowicz, Andrzej Panufnik, Grażyna Bacewicz, Anatoly Lyadov, Modest Mussorgsky, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms. The soloists are: Artur Rubinstein, Arturo Benedetti-Michelangeli, Wanda Wiłkomirska, Stefania Woytowicz and Kazimierz Pustelak. The album will be presented during a special press conference held in the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall on 26 February. Distribution will start at the beginning of March.
