A few warm words

12 May 2014

Since launch of the web portal devoted to Witold Rowicki, we have been receiving from all over the world thank you messages, congratulations and warm words showing recognition of our work. We are glad that the portal has met with so much enthusiasm and is read not only by our friends from the music industry but by all who have become fascinated by Maestro. You are deeply encouraged to continue sending your opinions as well as other information about Witold Rowicki. And we would like to thank very much to the authors of the messages posted below.

Dear Madam and Sir,

I deeply congratulate on carrying out such a fantastic project. I hope that the idea as well as your efforts and engagement in this great initiative have given you a lot of satisfaction. The website you have created is very clear, transparent and will help everybody, even a laic person, get to know Maestro better. Once again, congratulations on the success.

Great site. Well organised, fast and full of unique content.
It would be difficult to find a better monument commemorating Maestro Rowicki.

Dear Magda, Dear Włodek!

The next day after the Friday concert I felt a great tide of gratitude to you and wanted to phone you right away to thank. But I also imagined how tired you had to be after having prepared SUCH celebrations. Exactly. Personally, I needed a few days to calm down and appreciate what I was a part of ...

It was a great feast: for the music and the society. Celebrations crossed the borders of time and continents. Today I am still delighted by the program. At the end I wanted to keep clasping hands – or to dance, but not leave.

The finale with “a glass of wine” surpassed my greatest expectations. You invited world famous guests and created such a warm atmosphere. I am really touched and wanted to share my feelings with you.

Magda and Włodek, my congratulations for all you have done for Dad’s anniversary. I am impressed, especially that not many of us are capable of such motivation and active behaviour. Take my deep regards, I am very proud of you .You are in a small group of homo sapiens (and my friends at the same time), who can appreciate true values in this vale of tears.

Dear Magda and Włodek,

Thank you very much for organising such a wonderful music and cultural event and inviting us to take part. All elements of an exemplary event were great:

solemn part – the film and handing over commemorative medals – perfect.
cheerful part – the concert – wonderful,
banquet part – a glass of wine and sandwiches – elegant and meeting standards of the world of culture.

Special words of appreciation should be addressed to Włodek, editor of the anniversary monograph "Zapiski Dyrygenta". When Włodek sets to do something, it is always done perfectly. No difference this time. I haven’t seen such a bibliophile book for a long time. Great book and great gift for the Polish culture and Witold Rowicki’s family.

Dear Magda and Włodek

I have seen the website, I congratulate and admire the work you had to do to launch it. It was really a great effort to collect, order and prepare so many materials. I also like its graphic design, which is modest but elegant, in good taste.

Dear Madam and Sir!

I received an e-mail with Witold Rowicki’s biography already several days ago! It took me some time to write to you but I looked through the perfect website about Witold Rowicki several times! The website is done with great care and gives a clear picture about Maestro and what kind of person he was! I think it required a lot of your effort but it was worth! I have just watched a programme about Witold Rowicki on TVP Kultura channel and his concert with Wanda Wiłkomirska!

Dear Magda and Włodek,

Once again our words of appreciation, respect and admiration. Celebrations were fantastic, every detail was carefully prepared. Even spontaneous behaviour was interwoven with planned scenario. Guests around us were delighted and surprised how you could organise something like that in a short time – film, concert, book, medals and website. Julek was wonderful. Serious, aware of the role he played, congratulated and handed medals beautifully. A worthy grandson of the Great Man. Wonderful boy. We want to thank, congratulate and wish rest after all efforts, deadlines and simply tiredness.

P.S. WŁODEK YOU ARE GREAT!

My Dear!

I want to thank you for giving me an opportunity to take part in such extraordinary celebrations – beautiful and touching. I liked very much the film and music of good choice. And Dad so unusual, pure, touching. My God, time is merciless, though 84- year-old Wanda Wiłkomirska seems to have escaped it a bit. You both looked beautiful. My biggest hugs to you.

Dear Magda and Włodek

Congratulations for creating such a wonderful web portal devoted to 100th birth anniversary of your father Magda and your mentor Włodek.

The portal was made very professionally, it has a rich content, user friendly functionality and another important feature – it is intuitive.
We deeply hope that the portal will be a great contribution to the cultural heritage of our country.

And your efforts and determination put into this great work will bring you a lot of satisfaction that the legacy of the great conductor Witold Rowicki will not be wasted.

Dear Madam and Sir.

My name is Krzysztof M. I am a flautist at the Warsaw Philharmonic.
Thank you very much for creating a very interesting website www.witoldrowicki.com. I was deeply touched when looking through archive materials.
I had an honour to play under Maestro’s baton during His last performance at the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Dear Włodek,

Together with Barbara we want to thank for the beautiful calendar with a wonderful collection of pictures, poster copies and memories. It is really extraordinary that you have managed to publish something like that. It reminds a very important period in the history of the Polish music, our presence in the world culture, a phenomenon of Polish school of conducting with a bright star of Witold Rowicki, a phenomenon of the “outbreak” of Polish school of conducting – it is all for thinking Poles, especially the people of culture (and not Qulture as allegedly modernly spelt), and is lunar years away from omnipresent tabloid mediocrity and gibberish of the independent media as well as the majority of decision makers.

Dear Magda and Włodek,

Thank you very much for sending Dad’s anniversary calendar
Time passes quickly and without mercy, years go by and our loved ones die. But the most important thing is that they live as long as we remember them. For me the calendar brought a lot of memories and feelings, from Philharmonic, Nowy Świat through Chocimska to Królewicza Jakuba Streets, not to mention Zakopane and Warchały. Thank you very much and I wish it all had not passed so fast. My deepest regards!
