Film coverage of the ceremony inaugurating the year of Witold Rowicki

Celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Witold Rowicki’s birthday were officially inaugurated on 21 February 2014 under the patronage of Bogdan Zdrojewski, Minister of Culture and National Heritage.


As part of the inauguration ceremony, the Warsaw Philharmonic Hall hosted the following events:
 - a film about the Conductor, “Cień pod kamieniem” (Shadow under the Stone), directed by Tomasz Dobrowolski,
 - a concert performed by a violin player Aleksandra Kuls and a bassoonist Leszek Wachnik, accompanied by the Symphonic Orchestra of the Warsaw Philharmonic conducted by Jacek Kasprzyk
 - an exhibition in the foyer of the Philharmonic Hall, prepared by the National Library of Poland and showing the legacy of Witold Rowicki provided by the Family of Maestro
 - a meeting of individuals representing the music environment and friends of Witold Rowicki, during which persons especially involved in organising the anniversary received metals designed by a sculptor Bronisław Krzysztof and books “Zapiski Dyrygenta” (Conductor’s Notes) published by Oficyna Wydawnicza Przybylik &.
